I'm so sorry to read of your dilemma with your parent's and the care that is needed and deserved. These people in Washington lack the compassion to feel pain for others. It is like an evil force has descended on this country. I lost my brother to Parkinson's in the final stages of the disease when he slipped away in the night without warning. Don't loose hope for a better tomorrow and remain strong to protect your loved ones.
Thank you for your compassion, Gretchen. You know firsthand what it's like to see someone struggle with this disease. I cannot comprehend why so many people do not care about the welfare of strangers and are willing to support efforts that will hurt, even kill, other human beings. Sending peace to you and yours.
Bravo! My father had Parkinson’s as well, and I know what that disease can do to a person (and their family). I remember reading a couple months ago about breakthroughs in Parkinson’s research and now I find it often crosses my mind that funding is most likely halted. I was excited reading about the breakthroughs, even though it was too late for my own father, because it could mean other families might be able to avoid having to go through the experience my family, and yours, have gone through.
Same--even though my parents' are progressed too far for any breakthrough to help, I hope for better treatment and answers for others. What's happening now will set back research terribly. May your father be at peace and your memories hold much fondness.
Deeply moving, eloquent and harrowing. Wishing all the best for your parents and others who are suffering from these cruel, needless cuts to such vital care. In solidarity from Australia.
Thank you for your compassion. I'm sorry you're in a tough spot, too. I fully understand not being able to plan anything. Same here. May enough people in this nation speak up now and give us a chance to course correct, to some degree.

Thank you, Louisa. These are hard times, getting harder. Sending you good wishes. Say hello to your fairy lions. XO

You're dead right---privatizing is an aim. It's not going to make things better and easier for people. Thank for the rallying words. Stay strong.
